    Self consumption defines a producer (self-producer) that partially or completely consumes energy electric energy produced by his own installation.

    Self-consumption with batteries

    It represents a real advantage as it maximises energy consumption locally produced.
    Through this system, it is easier to reduce energy bill and get a return on investment.

    The continuous supply of electrical energy is a key issue to be addressed

    The solar panels do not work at night and badly with bad weather. Also, wind turbines depend on wind conditions. Generators depend on the supply of gasoline.

    The energy generated at a certain time of the day must be stored to optimise domestic use, without disrupting supply and with permanent control of the remaining energy reserve.
    The batteries required for energy storage must be durable, reliable, environmentally friendly, and must be able to supply energy for long periods of time without being powered by the grid.

    The Self-consumption market in France

    In 2017,

    21 French engineers students in aeronautics of the Estaca group have a dream ! They wanted to participate in the 2017 Bonneville Speed week with an atypical vehicle… An electric streamliner! And they did it!

    Not beating the record of 345km/h, they managed to reach nearly 250km/h with their electric racing car on the salt lake of Bonneville, Utah, USA.

    The electric streamliner was equipped with two engines of E-formula 1, high technologies, a high power lithium Iron Phosphate battery. This latter is designed and built by PowerTechSystems. Well prepared, they were close to the speed record for an electric car!

    An ambitious project of 7m length which provoked deep reactions, increasing renown and curiosity about the future technologies.

    Watch this space with new projects ideas as the construction of a racing car… And the participation in a complete season of ” free racing ” (low-cost motor racing).

    The 2nd edition of the International Forum of Agricultural Robotics organized by NAIO will take place on November 29th and 30th, 2017, in Toulouse.

    This high performance Lithium ion iron Phosphate LiFe (LiFePO4) battery is designed by the PowerTech Systems teams. This lithium ion battery is able to deliver 250kW during the race in order to beat the speed record of the Bonneville Speed Week (USA) in August 2017.
